Are You Feeling ‘The Heat’ Of Bullock & McCarthy In This Trailer?

After BRIDESMAIDS made a star of scene-stealing Melissa McCarthy and a capable, comic director of Paul Feig, big things are now expected of the duo. The two reunite in female buddy-cop comedy THE HEAT, where McCarthy’s Detective Joyce Nelson is paired with Oscar-winning superstar Sandra Bullock’s FBI agent Katerina James (who’s been quietly moved on by her superiors after often upstaging her male colleagues), to tackle a Russian mobster and his drug smuggling ring.

I got a lot of laughs out of BRIDESMAIDS and Bullock can do agents and cops in her sleep after the likes of MISS CONGENIALITY (although the less said about the sequel, the better), MURDER BY NUMBERS and DEMOLITION MAN. Whether the two work well together remains to be seen but this new trailer looks to be a whole lot of angry fun without really being gut-busting.

THE HEAT hits cinemas on the 5th April 2013 and co-stars Demian Bichir, Tony Hale, Taran Killam, Thomas F. Wilson and Michael Rapaport.
