Sneak Peek At ‘Riddick’ Logo!

Vin Diesel’s sight-adjusted, serial killer anti-hero Richard B. Riddick returns after the awesome PITCH BLACK and the awful THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK with the simply-titled – RIDDICK. We’ve been promised a back-to-basics plot which sees the futuristic outlaw crash land on a planet riddled with ravenous creatures, with Riddick’s only means of escape is to alert the bounty-hunters after his head of his whereabouts using the rescue beacon on his damaged ship. Of course, Riddick has a plan and isn’t going to be taken easy…

We have the first look at the films logo after writer/director David Twohy posted this image of him alongside his team of visual-effects supervisors and this statement about his continued work on the project which finished shooting in August.

Been pulling 14-hour days trying to finish RIDDICK. My typical day starts at 9am with intensive visual effects meetings, sweating out the details of our 900 VFX shots. Then I jet across town to the mix stage, Soundelux, where I supervise the sound, balancing out the often-competing elements of music, sound fx, sound design, and dialog. At night I hit the lab, Technicolor in Hollywood, staying until midnight to do “DI work” — color-correction of the movie. This is where David Eggby and I have one last chance to get the images right, dropping in grads and power windows to finesse what we shot on set. It’s a great tool, the Digital Intermediate. Kind of like Photoshop for movies. Gotta love it. Gotta love the challenge of bringing it all home.

RIDDICK co-stars Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk and Keri Hilson with a release still to be confirmed for next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
