After Joaquin Phoenix expressed his hate for awards season this week, it looks like Anthony Hopkins is not too fond of them either. The actor, who won an Oscar for best actor back in 1991 for SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, said that he agrees with other actors that say they want the work to speak for themselves. He said:
“You know, kissing the backside of the authorities that can make or break it; I can’t stand all that.”
He also went on to say that the thought of sucking up to famous producers makes him want to ‘throw up’. Hopkins is already getting Oscar buzz for his role in HITCHCOCK.
