‘Paranormal Activity 5’ To Hit Cinemas Around Next Halloween

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY is one of those horror franchises that will go on until the last drop of suspense has been squeezed out of it, with PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4 not exactly being a huge critic success. However, it still managed to take in an impressive $135.5 million off of an estimated $5 million budget, so it was no surprise when Paramount announced that a fifth installment would hit next year. Now we have the release date, and again – surprise, surprise – it will arrive just before next Halloween on 25th October 2013. This part of the year is a prime spot for horror films, and no doubt that Paramount expect the next installment to take in a big slice of the box office.

The film will be helmed by Christopher Landon who wrote the last 3 films, as well the significantly better REAR WINDOW homage DISTURBIA. No cast has been announced but it is said that it will be aimed at the Latino audience. Whether that means they’ll take the series in a new direction is still unknown, but of course we’ll bring you any updates right here on the site.
