One big-budget blockbuster many of us here at THN expect to be knocked out of the park next summer is Guillermo del Toro’s alien invasion pic, PACIFIC RIM. The film will see the planet attacked and left ravaged by giant-sized otherworldly creatures known only as ‘Kaiju’, with Earth’s only defence later coming from equally massive man-made and designed Jaeger robots, piloted by humans.
Following todays’ earlier website launch, mysterious viral video and intriguing redacted documents, we have another couple of fascinating tidbits suggesting the viral campaign is well underway. We have a first look at the blueprints of a few of those metallic monstrosities the human race will be rooting for, as well as a video giving us a sneak peak of those huge, hideous terrifying extraterrestrials on the rampage.
PACIFIC RIM stars Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman and Charlie Day and is set to be released in 2D and 3D on the 12th July 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
