First Poster Released For Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’

Yes, of course it’s also William Shakespeare’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING but Joss Whedon has taken that framework of the famous play and given it a stylish, contemporary twist. Whedon shot this version in twelve days with the original texts to tell the tale of lovers Beatrice (Amy Acker) and Benedick (Alexis Denisof) and this poster gives us our first proper look at the leading actors that confirmed it’s June 7th North American release last week.

Whedon has had a gradual climb to the biggest stage, after winning many, many fans for his work on BUFFY, FIREFLY and DOLLHOUSE. I feel he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves on a critical level after the huge success with THE AVENGERS, a film that took expectation and surpassed it. In the meantime, we’re very interested to see MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and it’ll be summer again before we know it, hopefully! Here’s that poster:

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING is directed by Joss Whedon and stars Fran Kranz, Clark Gregg, Sean Maher, Jillian Morgese, Ashley Johnson, Tom Lenk, Reed Diamond, and Whedon legend Nathan Fillion. It opens in the USA in June, 2013 with other countries still to be confirmed.
