Them good ol’ folks at the BBC have revealed a sneak peek at a brand new TARDIS interior…
A new console room comes as a bit of a surprise; the “Coral”- themed one lasted a good six years. But, seeing as the Eleventh Doctor [played by the brilliant Matt Smith] has just lost his first companion, it’s not that surprising. The Tenth Doctor coped with losing Rose Tyler by being a complete dick to Martha Jones; the Eleventh seems to be responding by going into another self-imposed exile/retirement and redecorating the pad.
In any case, the new interior will debut in full with this year’s Christmas special, “THE SNOWMEN”, and looks like a veritable smorgasbord of potential in-jokes with all that Gallifreyan text.
The new set was designed by Michael Pickwoad, the show’s current production designer. It’s due to be home to the Doctor and new companion-to-be Clara, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, and who may or may not be related to Oswin from Asylum Of The Daleks, when the series picks up again next year for another eight episodes.
UPDATED! As if Christmas is coming early, some brand new publicity stills have just been released as well, featuring Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor, Neve McIntosh as Madame Vastra, Richard E Grant as Dr Simeon and Mr Punch as Mr Punch.

“Whose side are you on?!”
