Never a man afraid to try his hand at something new, Sam Mendes is putting together his musical version of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. With critical success behind the likes of AMERICAN BEAUTY and SKYFALL, Mendes does also have a link back to musical theatre, having won four Tony awards for the revival of CABARET, back when he was artistic director at the Donmar Warehouse back in 1992.
