First Image From Disney’s ‘Frozen’!

Disney seem to have overcome their creative slump of the mid-noughties to really hit it out of the ballpark with films like THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, TANGLED and – based on reviews from overseas – WRECK-IT RALPH. Next up for the studio is FROZEN, a film based on Hans Christian Andersen’s (Denmark, represent!) fairy tale The Snow Queen. The plot of the film is as follows:

When Anna (Kristen Bell) is cursed by her estranged sister, the cold-hearted Snow Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), Anna’s only hope of reversing the curse is to survive a perilous but thrilling journey across an icy and unforgiving landscape. Joined by a rugged, thrill-seeking outdoorsman Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), his one-antlered reindeer and a hapless snowman, Anna must race against time, conquer the elements and battle an army of frozen sinister warriors if she ever hopes to melt her frozen heart.

The film has been in some sort of developmental stage at the studio for the past decade or so, but it’s almost here and we can now bring you the very first still. It’s…errm…well to be honest it’s hard to see much detail in it, but it looks nice and moody. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

FROZEN is directed by Chris Buck & Jennifer Lee. It will star the voice talent of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff. It is scheduled to arrive in US cinemas on 27th November 2013, and in UK cinemas on 20th December 2013.

Esben Evans is the Danish contingent on this site. He enjoys films, swearing a lot, and a nice pair of slacks.
