Jamie Foxx Discusses Electro’s Costume In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

Electro Jamie FoxxJamie Foxx is getting ready for the release of this winter’s western DJANGO UNCHAINED. But there’s a rule in Hollywood, and that rule is that if an actor is in/going to be in a superhero film, then that’s what you need to focus on. Therefore, Jamie Foxx is already being questioned about his role as Electro in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, and what we all want to know about is the costume. Anyone familiar with the character of the comics will know exactly how ridiculous (not in a bad way) Electro looks, and that it would never work on film. So what does Foxx have to say about his costume?

It won’t be green and yellow. It will be a different color. They (the producers) want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic bookie, so it won’t be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like aliquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen. How did he become this way? So, it will be some new stuff.

Despite the fact that comic fans can be quite protective over how characters look, I doubt anybody will be surprised, or deny the necessity for a change. I’m not that excited by the prospect of a THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN sequel, but at least it appears to be going in a different direction to the last film and original trilogy. I can’t wait to see the first images of Foxx’s villain in the flesh.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will be released in the UK on 18th April 2014 and in the US on 2nd May 2014. It is set to star Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Sally FIeld, Martin Sheen, and Shailene Woodley.
