Season 3 Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Be Bigger And Badder Than Ever

Game of Thrones Season three

GAME OF THRONES is in my opinion one of the best shows on TV by far at the moment, if not of all time. Amazing source material that has been tweaked to fit the visual media, fantastic cast that seems to get better and better with each season, and an amazing score as well (DUM DUM DU-DU-DUM DUM). Season 3 is set to roll across US screens on 31st March, which based on the previous two years that it will follow on 1st April over here in the UK, and now it has been announced that Season 3 will be slightly bigger than previously. All 10 episodes are set to be four to five minutes longer than previous seasons with the added content mounting up to almost an entire extra episode. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss had the following to say on the subject:

One of the great liberties with HBO is we’re not forced to come in at a specific time. We can’t be under 50 minutes or over 60, but that gives us a lot of flexibility. It will be a super-sized season, as befitting ‘Storm of Swords, last year we had a lot of 52-minute episodes. This year is a lot of 56, 57.

If that isn’t good enough news, the series finale looks set to run longer than an hour just as last year’s finale did. This might not take the pain away of only getting 10 episodes of awesomeness, but I’m thrilled that they’ll at least squeeze the maximum of material out of each episode. I can’t freaking wait!

GAME OF THRONES – Season 3 is set to arrive in the US 31st of March on HBO and in the UK shortly after that on Sky Atlantic.
