Dreamworks’ ‘Turbo’ Trailer Is Super Slow

And I don’t mean slow in a bad way. TURBO is just one of Ryan Reynolds’ vocal performances in an animation released next year along with THE CROODS. TURBO focuses on a snail that loves to race. Only problem being, that he is of course, a snail. This first trailer is everything a good teaser should be. It first introduces us to a Formula 1 race with Reynolds giving us a voice-over. If the footage were in live-action I most certainly would have taken it seriously. We then cut to Turbo the snail as he begins his own race. Which takes a very long time indeed. It made me laugh, Reynolds’ performance sounds perfect, and best of all, the animation looks gorgeous. This could be a bit of another hit for Dreamworks.

TURBO is released 19th July 2013 in the US and 18th October in the UK. It stars the vocal talents of Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Michelle Rodriguez, Snoop Dogg, Ken Leong, Paul Giamatti, Luis Guzman, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, and Kurtwood Smith.
