First 6 Minutes Of Elijah Wood’s ‘Maniac’ Remake Stalks Online!

A firm favourite of this horror fanatic contributor of THN, William Lustig’s 1980 gore-some cult classic, MANIAC, has recently been remade with Elijah Wood taking on the late Joe Spinell’s disturbing role of demented serial-killer Frank. Coming from director Franck Khalfoun, with a script from THE HILLS HAVE EYES’ Alexandre Aja and Gregory Levasseur, early word is this latest horror remake doesn’t skimp of the scares and is a terrifically shocking inclusion to the genre. Our own Fordy caught an early screening at London’s FrightFest in August and had nothing but praise for the film (catch his thoughts HERE).

Check out the first 6 minutes from the film co-starring America Olivio, Liane Balaban, Morgane Slemp, rising newcomer Nora Arnezeder and slashes its way in UK cinemas UK from the 15th March 2013, while a US release is still to be confirmed.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
