Writer & Release Date Announced For ‘The Host 2’

the_host_foto2101011I am of course talking about the sensational Korean movie, and not the adaptation of the Stephanie Meyer book. THE HOST 2 has been discussed and talked about ever since the 2006 film became the highest grossing film in Korea’s history (it has since lost that crown). Recently we saw some footage, which has now been revealed as test footage put together some time ago, and heard that first time director Park Myeong Chan would be taking over directorial duties from Bong Joon Ho. Now it can be revealed that the film is actually yet to start shooting but is aiming for a summer 2014 release date. It will be written by Im Pil Sung, the writer and director of the criminally underrated fairy tale horror HANSEL & GRETEL, and co-writer/director of DOOMSDAY BOOK. There’s not much else to report in terms of story, other than it is being reported that we will see two monsters this time around.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
