Sundance is only a couple of weeks away, so expect a massive surge in brand new looks at some of the movies premiering (not that we’re complaining of course) The first film to lead the pack is Zal Batmanglij’s brand new movie THE EAST.
The new still sees co-stars Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgård, they play eco warriors who are a part of a cult like terrorist group, and it is up to a young intelligence officer (played by Brit Marling) to infiltrate the group and take them down. Skarsgård plays Benji, the group leader, while Ellen Page plays Izzy, a protege of Benji who starts to the question the group’s ways. Speaking in an interview, Alex said:
“Benji believes in eye for an eye, he attacks.”
THE EAST sees the reunion of Brit Marling and director Zal Batmanglij, who first worked on SOUND OF MY VOICE.
Sundance Film Festival begins 17th January.
