The legend that is director Woody Allen (VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS) has had his new project BLUE JASMINE purchased by Sony Pictures Entertainment, it was announced by the company today on its official website.
A master in the fine art of the ensemble, Allen has acquired some huge names for the flick including Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Louis CK, Andrew Dice Clay, Sally Hawkins, Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg.
Set around the last few vignettes of an inevitable crisis inflicted on a socialite housewife, BLUE JASMINE is one of the few of Allen’s pictures that’ll be set and filmed in his hometown of New York (filmed also in San Francisco), after completing a series of projects in glamorous European cities.
