The first image for director Lenny Abrahamson’s upcoming film, FRANK, is appropriately bizarre considering its strange premise and eccentric cast of characters.The film centres around a young man (Domhnall Gleeson) as he embarks on a series of (mis)adventures with a group of pop musicians led by the strangely alluring Frank (Michael Fassbender) and his sidekick Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal).
Based on a memoir by Jon Ronson, it claims to be loosely based on the authors encounters with Frank Sidebottom, the onstage alter ego of musician and comedian Chris Sievey. Although little else is known about the project, one thing is for certain — audiences can always rely on Fassbender to star in vehicles that allow him to challenge himself as an actor. If this image is any indication, this challenge as a performer will be a strange one.
