MGM is currently planning a sequel to the 2010 bonkers comedy HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. The original film saw John Cusack headline his close pal and regular collaborator Steve Pink’s sci-fi fun fest, as the leader of a group of best friends who’ve become disillusioned with their adult lives and decide to return to a childhood ski resort they frequented as teens. A night of hard partying in their hot tub, whisks them back to the year 1986, giving them a chance to change their previously bleak futures. Genius cameos from the likes of Chevy Chase and Crispin Glover – along with its unique plot – certainly aided the hilarity.
The film was hardly a money-spinner, meaning the news does come as a surprise. Also, Cusack is currently not attached but co-stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke are in talks to reprise their roles, which may change his mind. Pink is set to pen the script with star Corddry but is not expected to return as director.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
