Terence Malick has been unusually active ever since he completed the 2011 cult hit TREE OF LIFE, with no less than four projects in the making. Of course, with his tendency to use a lot of time on post-production it’s still unclear when exactly everything will be released, but the first of the bunch does have a release date…and it is soon. TO THE WONDER has been described as very experimental, with the actors working a lot without scripts and the use of lights. It’s synopsis goes as follows:
After visiting Mont Saint-Michel, Marina (Olga Kurylenko) and Neil (Ben Affleck) come to Oklahoma, where problems arise. Marina meets a priest (Javier Bardem) and fellow exile, who is struggling with his vocation, while Neil renews his ties with a childhood friend, Jane (Rachel McAdams).
A new quad poster has been released for the film featuring Ben Affleck & Olga Kurylenko, and although it looks really pretty it’s also extremely similar to the still of Affleck & Rachel McAdams that was released a long time ago. It looks like people will definitely hug each other in this film…a lot. Early reactions to the film itself have been a bit mixed, but all the actors have received praise for their performances. TO THE WONDER is scheduled for a cinematic release on 22nd February 2013 in the UK and the 12th April in the US.
