CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER will be the third film in Marvel’s phase two which will culminate in an AVENGERS sequel. The casting is still in progress, but it looks unlikely to have a lot of people reprising their roles from the first one due to the almost 70 year gap from World War II to the present day where the next film will be set. There will be a couple of familiar faces though with Sebastian Stan playing the titular Winter Soldier aka a corrupted version of Steve Rogers’ friend, Bucky Barnes. Hayley Atwell, Tommy Lee Jones and Hugo Weaving all look unlikely to be back any time soon, but now it seems like there are another character from the original that will make an appearance, that being Toby Jones’ villain Arnim Zola.

While on the carpet for the Critics Circle Awards, Toby Jones was asked about his involvement with the franchise and he responded saying that it looks like he will be. If that’s the case, the question of course remains in what capacity. Flashbacks at this point looks the most likely, maybe with him having a hand in creating The Winter Soldier, however with him last seen as being in the custody of the US government that might not be it. You can watch the full interview below where Toby Jones also talks about BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO and being compared to Anthony Hopkins in THE GIRL.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo. It will star Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Cobie Smulders. The film is scheduled for release on 4th April 2014 in both the UK and US.

Esben Evans is the Danish contingent on this site. He enjoys films, swearing a lot, and a nice pair of slacks.
