With an expected $4 million per thirty seconds of advertising on the world renowned television sporting Super Bowl tournament, it comes as no surprise considering the economic climate, that only a few major studios will showcase their upcoming movies on the world stage. What’s even more surprising is that Walt Disney Pictures have chosen their Western action/adventure, THE LONE RANGER, as the one to build momentum at the iconic event. It seems unexpected due to the rumoured troubled shoot and escalating budget which almost put the project in jeopardy. Hopefully this means they have confidence in Gore Verbinski’s finished film.
Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer will portray the heroic double-act of Tonto and John Reid, taking on corruption with a firm hand of justice, in the film co-starring William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, Helena Bonham-Carter and James Badge Dale.
