August Strindberg’s play Miss Julie is being adapted for the big screen. The Swedish battle of the sexes play turned into film will be directed by Norwegian actress Liv Ullman, known for once being Ingmar Bergman’s muse and is a Golden Globe winner plus a BAFTA and Oscar nominee. This would be Ullman’s first feature film with big stars like Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton and Jessica Chastain in the cast.
MISS JULIE plays out on Midsummer night in in 1874 in Sweden and sees the upper class Miss Julie mixing with the help and ends up in a sexual relationship with Jean – one of the servants.
