Indie darling Bob Byington has written and directed a film entitled SOMEBODY UP THERE LIKES ME, and the trailer is sweet, funny, and offbeat. The trailer, which gives us a series of events rather than a solid plot, shows a film about a newly married couple dealing with all the ups and downs one would expect, such as sexy nannies and interfering fathers. The hilarious Nick Offerman has some memorable lines and the tone seems like one of those enjoyable indies that could garner a little following. Byington is responsible for previous little gems such as HARMONY & ME and RSO [REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER].
SOMEBODY UP THERE LIKES ME has done a few festivals, but is yet to get a big release. It stars Nick Offerman, Keith Poulson, Jess Weixler, Stephanie Hunt, Kevin Corrigan, and Megan Mullally.
