The outstanding favourite for this year’s Academy Award for Best Lead Actress is SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK stunner Jennifer Lawrence and 2012 was quite a year for the 22 year-old, who also took the box-office by storm with THE HUNGER GAMES. David O. Russell’s excellent mental, melodrama landed Lawrence with her second Oscar-nomination, following 2010’s WINTER’S BONE and the duo are set to re-team, alongside SLP co-star, Bradley Cooper, on the project formally known as AMERICAN BULLSHIT.
The untitled film is based on a real-life undercover operation known as Abscam. A sting masterminded in the 1980s by a con-artist secretly working alongside the FBI, whose digging uncovered shocking corruption in the US Congress. Christian Bale and Amy Adams (another couple re-teaming with Russell after Oscar-winning boxing-biopic, THE FIGHTER) will also co-star, with Lawrence poised to star as Bale’s wife. THE TOWN and THE HURT LOCKER’s Jeremy Renner and Comedian/actor Louis C.K., round out the cast.
