With John Moore’s DIE HARD shitfest currently taking a mint at the international box-office, us action fans are in desperate need for a great return to the well-worn genre of ‘reluctant hero’ overcoming the odds. Thankfully, Gerard Butler could be about to bring us Die Hard In The White House, as his former Secret Service Agent sneaks into the iconic address to kick ass when ruthless terrorists invade Aaron Eckhart’s Presidential home in Antoine (TRAINING DAY) Fuqua’s OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN.
The action-thriller has a strong supporting cast, which includes Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Rick Yune, Radha Mitchell, Dylan McDermott, Melissa Leo, Angela Bassett and Cole Hauser, who coincidentally, was criminally underused in Brucey’s A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD disaster.
Check out this first television spot for the film slated for US cinemas 22nd March and the UK on the 19th April.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
