Twisted heist thriller TRANCE, is directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle and follows fine art auctioneer Simon (James McAvoy), in over his head with a gang led by organised crime lord, Franck (Vincent Cassel). The two are behind the audacious theft of a priceless Goya painting in the middle of a major public auction. When Simon double-crosses his mobster partner during the robbery, Franck retaliates violently and knocks him out cold.
In the aftermath of the heist and upon awakening, Simon claims that the violent trauma has left him with no memory of where he stashed the artwork. This leads Franck to hire skilled and seductive hypnotherapist, Elizabeth (Rosario Dawson), to coerce the location of the masterpiece… but is Simon really telling the truth?
