Following the host of portrait posters which have appeared over the last three days, it’s now the turn of the ingenious individual who can turn his face into a chocolate log even when severely injured. Yes, Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta Mellark has the chance to shine as the fellow surviving tribute to Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) heroine in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, the sequel to last years hit post-apocalyptic thriller.
The film has a new director in Francis Lawrence, after Gary Ross made way after some creative differences. Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Tobey Jones and Lenny Kravitz all return alongside Lawrence and Hutcherson. However, fans of Suzanne Collins’ novel series will be eager to see what newcomers, Jeffrey Wright, Jena Malone, Amanda Plummer, Sam Claflin and Phillip Seymour Hoffman bring to the tournament. The film is due 22nd November. May the odds be in its favour!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
