Mark Ruffalo Wants Standalone ‘Hulk’ Film, But Nothing Planned

Joss Whedon recently denied that THE AVENGERS 2 would kick start a very Hulk-centric Marvel Phase Three containing the ‘Planet Hulk’ and ‘World War Hulk’ storylines. That came after he discussed the difficulties with creating a standalone Hulk film.

The problem is [Hulk] is a very popular character, but he’s not a superhero. Half of him is a superhero, half is a werewolf. You can’t structure it like a superhero movie. The one thing you would have in your favor would be Mark Ruffalo. But right now I don’t know if they have plans to do that or not, because he works so well as part of a greater whole. But by himself, it’s tough.

Now Mark Ruffalo himself has chimed in on Twitter which seems to substantiate the lack of movement for another standalone Hulk film as well as when we can expect to see the great, green beast again next.

I do hope that they can figure out a way to make it happen, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk was great but I agree that it is tough to do, especially in conjuction with the rest of the Marvel universe. Do you want another Hulk film or would you prefer to keep him contained to THE AVENGERS? Let us know in the comments.
