Veronica Mars Movie Being Made After Breaking Kickstarter Record

Veronica Mars’ was the cult TV-Show came to a premature end in 2007 after 3 seasons on-air and even then, Mars fans were hoping, dreaming and longing for a movie to be made (or at least a reunion episode) and shown on CW. Six years later and evidently those thoughts haven’t left ‘Veronica Mars‘ star Kristen Bell or creator Rob Thomas’ mind. The latter set up a campaign on the fundraising page Kickstarter a few days ago hoping to reach the $2 million dollar target in a month, but astonishingly they hit it after 10 hours, and with it made a Kickstarter record.

Their KS page promises that they’ll go into pre-production as soon as the campaign is over, with the very pregnant Kristen Bell on board and ready to play a huge part. The campaign still has 29 days to go and has already reached $2.5 million with some great perks for anyone who makes a pledge, although disappointingly some of those bonuses you’ll only be able to pick up if you live in the US.

VERONICA MARS THE MOVIE is set for an early 2014 release. Check out the clip from the Kickstarter page below, that shows the good old cast not being able to let go of their ‘Veronica Mars‘ characters. Are you excited for a Veronica Mars movie and what do you think of having the fans fund the film? OR does this set a dangerous balance for future film productions? Do let us know!

Isra has probably seen one too many movies and has serious issues with differentiating between reality and film - which is why her phone number starts with 555. She tries to be intellectual and claims to enjoy German and Swedish film, but in reality anything with a pretty boy in it will suffice.
