Gosling leads THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES as travelling motorcyclist Luke, a young man who returns to a town where he discovers he’s fathered a child with Eva Mendes’ luckless Romina. Hoping to stay and form a bond, Luke turns to bank robberies to support his new family but soon finds himself the obsession of decorated cop Avery Cross, played by Oscar- nominee Bradley Cooper.
