The first poster for THE SOUND OF MY VOICE director Zal Batmanglij’s latest thriller, THE EAST, has arrived online.
The film reunites the acclaimed filmmaker with rising actress Brit Marling (who also wrote and produced the film). Marling headlines as an operative for an elite private intelligence firm who finds her priorities irrevocably changed after she is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for executing covert attacks upon major corporations. THE EAST also features Ellen Page, Alexander Skarsgard, Toby Kebbell, Julia Ormond, Patricia Clarkson, Shiloh Fernandez and Jason Ritter.
THE EAST premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in January, while a general US release date of 31st May has been confirmed. We’re still awaiting a UK announcement. We’ve also added the new trailer below.
