We have the first look at the international trailer and poster for post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller THE COLONY, starring Laurence Fishburne, Bill Paxton and Kevin Zegers. Jeff Renfroe co-wrote and directed the film which hits Canadian cinemas on 12th April. No US or UK dates have been confirmed as yet.
The futuristic film is set during the next ice age, as a scattering of outpost colonists struggle to survive below the world’s frozen surface, which are running seriously short on food supplies, leading to illness and internal conflict. After losing contact with Colony 5, Colony 7’s leader Briggs (Laurence Fishburne) decides to lead an expedition to uncover the reasons, however, the team discover a threat much worse than nature and must battle to save themselves and protect their fellow colonists in what could be humanity’s last stand.
THE COLONY co-stars Charlotte Sullivan, John Tench and Atticus Mitchell. From the look of this first trailer, we’re thinking THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW meets DAWN OF THE DEAD.
