‘Warrior’ Director Taking Over ‘Jane Got A Gun’

cover1300

With acclaimed WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIL director Lynne Ramsey not showing up for the first day of shooting yesterday for period western thriller, JANE GOT A GUN, cast and crew were said to be in a state of shock. The film was set to be headlined by Natalie Portman in the story of a young married women named Jane, who runs away from her outlaw husband and teams up with an old flame in an effort to protect her family. Producer Scott Steindorff was unimpressed with Ramsey’s unprofessionalism and vowed to find a quick, but capable replacement.

Scott Steindorff has done just that and hired the underrated WARRIOR director Gavin O’Conner to take charge of the film co-starring his WARRIOR lead, Joel Edgerton, Jude Law and Rodrigo Santoro. JANE GOT A GUN has a screenplay by Brian Duffield and is expected early next year. There is still no word as to why Ramsey failed to appear.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
