THE WOLVERINE is set to right the wrongs of X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE this summer, taking the action to Japan and seeing Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) go up against The Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee) and Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova). The Silver Samurai remains much of a mystery in terms of looks so far, but we do get our first look at Viper below, as well as seeing Yukio, played by newcomer Rila Fukushima, donning a number of costumes.
THE WOLVERINE has a lot to prove this summer, as the clawed-mutant’s last solo effort was pretty darn poor and Jackman needs to prove there’s life in the old crew yet, considering the success of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. James Mangold directs a script by Christopher McQurrie and Mark Bombak, based on the seminal comic by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont.
THE WOLVERINE is released 26th July 2013. It stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamato, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.
