Colin Firth stars as ARTHUR NEWMAN (no relation to Randy) in the trailer for this comedic drama. Firth plays a golfer who fakes his own death and starts a new life with a new name. Along the way he meets Emily Blunt and they decide to break into peoples’ homes and act out their lives. Judging by the trailer, this is a light and fluffy film with a bit of inspiration taken from the classic Kim Ki Duk film, 3-IRON. I can’t say this has got me excited, especially since the messages the film portrays aren’t made clear. Should we feel upbeat about Firth’s liberation, or hate him for ditching his family? Hopefully we’ll find out when the film is released.
ARTHUR NEWMAN opens in the US on 26th April and a UK release date is yet to be set. The film stars Colin Firth, Emily Blunt, and Anne Heche.
