Making its world premiere at this years upcoming SXSW Film Festival is twisted thriller, HOLY GHOST PEOPLE. Emma Greenwell stars as a young woman who enlists an ex-Marine to infiltrate an Appalachian snake-handling church in an effort to locate her sister.
After a promising but inexperienced debut with vampire drama, THE HAMILTONS, co-directors Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores (under their Butcher Brothers tag) were always going to be ones to watch. A number of follow-ups failed to show such promise but their techniques were being skilfully honed in crass, low-budget horror efforts like their APRIL FOOLS DAY remake and THE HAMILTONS sequel, THE THOMPSONS. Altieri has now branched out on his own (although Flores co-wrote) with this cult-like thriller, which, from the look of this first trailer, has a seasoned and unsettling vibe.
The film co-stars Joe Egender, Brendan McCarthy, Cameron Richardson and Don Harvey.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
