First Full Trailer For ‘Carrie’

Kimberley Peirce’s remake of CARRIE will hit cinemas ready for this Halloween, and here is the first full trailer for the film. Even though it’s a remake based on a book that many horror fans are familiar with, I think this trailer gives away far too much. Carrie White is a young misfit girl with a weird religious mother. She’s made fun of at school and her life is pretty much hell, so when Carrie develops supernatural telekinetic powers she unleashes a new style of revenge. The film certainly looks impressive, but I still don’t see Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie. I’m sure she’ll get the performance down, but her general look just doesn’t convince me she’d stand out that much. I guess she’s “ugly” and “different” given the usual parade of high schoolers in their mid-20s which we see in Hollywood films. Julianne Moore as the fanatical mother looks to be spot on.

CARRIE is released in the US on the 18th October and in the UK on the 29th November. It stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Ansel Elgort, and Gabrielle Wilde.
