Video From ‘Godzilla’ Set Shows Off Some Helicopter Action & Sally Hawkins Cast

GODZILLA is effortlessly taking shape in front of our very eyes. With all the great casting, announcements, and set pics we’ve seen so far, you start to wonder how in the hell Hollywood messed it up last time. This latest sneaky video, which has a voyeuristic feel to it, as though we have uncovered a genuine government mission, shows a helicopter arriving at the scene of some kind of crash/disaster. A number of soldiers descend from the helicopter and begin to explore the wreckage. It’s amazing that these days, I’m even surprised to see a real helicopter used as opposed to CGI. I think it’s important to for this interpretation to include as many practical effects as possible.

In other news, Sally Hawkins has joined the ever growing cast. Hawkins is best known for her roles in the films of Mike Leigh, including VERA DRAKE, HAPPY GO LUCKY, and MADE IN DAGENHAM. There is no information on her character as of yet. Hawkins is a fine actress, and perhaps her casting hints at an international crisis as well as just America.

GODZILLA will be released 16th May 2014. It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Sally Hawkins, Akira Takarada, and David Strathairn.
