‘Ricky Stanicky’ Lands Jim Carrey As Co-Lead

Jim Carrey to join the cast of Kick-Ass 2?

Summit Entertainment’s long-in-development comedy RICKY STANICKY will finally move forward after landing a comedy legend as one of the leads.  Jim Carrey will co-star the film which has a script by Jeff Bushell and tells of three teenagers who pull a prank by burning down a house in their neighbourhood. They make up a fake person to take the blame (the title of the film) and continue to use ‘him’ as an alibi in their adulthood to get out of uncomfortable and tricky situations. However, their wives finally force them for a confrontation, leading them to hire an actor to inhabit the personality.

Steve Oedekerk will direct, which reunites him with Carrey following their woeful (but box-office hit) sequel ACE VENTURA: WHEN NATURE CALLS. It’s expected to be an R-rated ensemble comedy in the same vein as THE HANGOVER. James Franco and Joaquin Phoenix are also rumoured to be circling the project but we’ll continue to update you as the project develops.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
