We are currently heading boldly towards the tenth anniversary of The Hollywood News. Over the years since the site was founded back in 2003 we have grown from humble beginnings with just yours truly posting a daily update on the latest film news to a website that posts news updates every hour of the week, cover every major cinema and DVD/Blu-Ray release, host a weekly film podcast, are on every movie premiere red carpet in the UK, cover every major UK based festival, and bring you many competitions to win movie related goodies every month – plus much, much more, powered by a team of 25 talented individuals; 25 fantastic THN-ers who bring the site to life every day.
Now, due to us expanding even more, we need more – more of people like YOU.
We currently have the following positions available on The Hollywood News team:
Movie News Contributors (2 positions)
We are looking for film news writers to put together a number of movie news articles every weekday. The position requires being on our morning shift (BST) to write up the latest news.
Requirements:
- You must be cine-literate and have excellent writing skills to put together short news articles on the site each day
- You must be willing to commit to post 2-3 news articles to the site every day (Mon-Fri)
- Your location is unimportant, but a locale near to London is preferred as you may be offered/ required to travel to central London to cover exciting film related events.
- You must have an understanding of the Wordpress platform and have basic Photoshop knowledge/ skills
- You must be 18+
Camera Person/ Video Editor
As we said above, we cover every major UK film premiere, and are on the look out for a talented camera person/ video editor to put together our red carpet interviews.
- You must be highly skilled in video editing and be able to custom the footage to the style of The Hollywood News.
- You must have competent camera skills to film talent and b-roll at each event.
- Your location is unimportant, but you must be reliable, and you have to be available to travel to central London for a call time of 5pm usually on day between Monday and Thursday. 90% of premieres take place in Leicester Square, but there are many that are held elsewhere in the city. Three to four premieres take place each month.
- You must own or have access to your own equipment, ideally HD camera equipment and editing software.
- You must have a fast Internet connection to be able to file the final video product, and we able to commit to filing the video report by midnight of the night of the premiere.
- You must be 18+
