The President & CEO of Sunn Classic Pictures, Inc., recently announced that the company will produce a remake of legendary author Stephen King’s intense animal horror story CUJO, all to mark the original films’ 30th Anniversary which Sunn produced and distributed. The 1983 classic, directed by Lewis Teague and starring E.T.’s Dee Wallace, centred on a loveable St. Bernard family dog that contracts rabies and conducts a vicious reign of terror on a small American town.

Sunn’s Facebook page gave this little comment and added the sales trailer which will be used to attract potential investors at the Cannes Film Festival:

Sunn Classic Pictures has announced plans to produce the remake of “Cujo” this year representing the 30th Anniversary since Sunn produced the original in 1983.  Based upon Steven King’s novel, “Cujo” is the story of a large, playful St. Bernard dog that is transformed into a hideous killing machine after being infected by rabies.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
