Brit Kelly Reilly Cast As Lead In ‘Heaven Is For Real’

kelly-reilly-uk-premiere-sherlock-holmes-a-game-of-shadows-01There was another outstanding performance after Denzel Washington in FLIGHT, and it was British actress Kelly Reilly who excelled in her role as fellow addict Nicole, fighting against unwanted desires. It’s now been announced that she’s due to take the lead in the upcoming Sony flick HEAVEN IS FOR REAL.

The film focuses on Kelly’s character, who plays the mother of a boy who wakes up after an operation and claims to have been to heaven. It’s based on the best-selling book by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent called Heaven Is For Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip To Heaven And Back. The underrated Greg Kinnear has also been cast as the boy’s father and her husband, with directing duties being taken on by Randall Wallace of BRAVEHEART fame.

Although, I’m not a religious man myself, I’m really interested to see what comes out of this and Reilly has had a very successful UK stage career, recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s SHERLOCK HOLMES and so it’s great to see her progressing. Joe Roth and T.D. Jakes are producing, more news as we get it!

I’ve had something of a crush on her since Cédric Klapisch’s “L’Auberge Espagnole” (always had a soft spot for freckled redheads) and it’s good to see her career reach new highs. I wish her the most successful and longest career possible.
