Now then, who liked a bit of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN? That’s a good show of hands. How about the second? Hmmm, less hands now. What about the third? Anyone? No? Fair enough. Well those who found enjoyment in the first are in luck because Gore Verbinski’s THE LONE RANGER appears to have Johnny Depp playing a Native American version of Captain Jack (minus the booze).
Whilst that may excite some, it has merely made me emit a load ‘sigh’ and roll my eyes. This being said it does appear Gore (we’re on first name terms) has spent the reported $200 million budget well – by blowing stuff up. But don’t take my pessimism as Verb-atim, have a look for yourself and let us know your thoughts:
THE LONE RANGER rides into town with Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and William Fichtner in tow, and Sheriff Verbinski in the helm on 3rd July in the USA and 9th August here in the UK.
