Yesterday, we brought you news that British actress Ophelia Lovibond had landed a significant supporting role in James Gunn’s upcoming intergalactic adventure GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. It’s expected she’ll play the aide to a villainous character known as The Collector. We’re now hearing that Lee Pace, best known for his role in whimsical hit series PUSHING DAISIES and who was also in the running for the lead as half human/half alien Peter Quill aka Star Lord (which ultimately went to Chris Pratt), is in final negotiations as the big bad rumoured to be The Collector.
If a deal is reached, Pace will join a cast consisting of Lovibond, Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana and Michael Rooker. Two major characters still to be cast are Rocket Raccon and Groot, which are expected to be motion-captured. As ever, we’ll keep you posted
