EASTERN PROMISES scribe Steven Knight makes his directorial debut with Jason Statham in the lead for dark thriller, HUMMINGBIRD. The plot follows a down of his luck ex-Special Forces soldier, Joey Jones, who along with his pregnant girlfriend is forced to live on the streets of London after returning from Afghanistan. However, when an altercation leaves his lover and unborn child dead, Joey embarks on a relentless trail of destruction as a vicious vigilante.
Expect more brooding drama than the usual Statham actioner with Knight in charge and if you missed the trailer you can find it here. In the meantime, checkout these three foreign posters for the film released in the UK on the 28th June and co-starring Vicky McClure, Benedict Wong, Siobhan Hewlett, Christian Brassington and Ian Pirie. No word yet on a US date.
