Excitement has been building for months, even years perhaps, for a follow-up to J.J. Abrams’ 2009 smash-hit reboot of the classic 1960s sci-fi series created by the late Gene Rodenberry. We’ll, we’re mere weeks away from the release of that sequel as Chris Pine’s Kirk and crew of the Starship Enterpise take on the might of Benedict Cumberbatch’s revenge-seeking psycho spy, John Harrison.
Here we have a fascinating video focusing on Pine’s heroic Captain as well as character posters for Karl Urban’s Bones and John Cho’s Sulu.
The film co-stars Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Bruce Greenwood, Anton Yelchin, Peter Weller, Alice Eve, Noel Clarke and beams into UK cinemas from 9th May and the US from 17th May.
