First Official Stills For The BBC’s Upcoming ‘The Musketeers’

We’ve received the first stills from the BBC’s 2014 lead Saturday or Sunday night (we believe) drama The Musketeers. Filming is well underway and now we’ve got the first official images of the cast together for the upcoming 10-part drama. The series is written by Adrian Hodges who wrote the excellent MY WEEK WITH MARILYN but also the rather underwhelming Primeval. His new series follows the fortunes of The Musketeers, an elite band of soldiers operating in 17th century Paris and I’m actually glad to see lesser-known names in the lead roles.

They are D’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino), Athos (Tom Burke), Aramis (Santiago Cabrera) and Porthos (Howard Charles) and will fight for what is just, regardless of personal risk. Check out the new stills here, don’t they look serious:

Adrian Hodges, had this to say about his new series and how it’s coming along:

“The four actors look brilliant together and it seems like they have been working together for years. The camaraderie between them makes each action-packed scene exciting and authentic, and the image we have released today really encapsulates that.”

The cast also includes Peter Capaldi, Tamla Kari, Maimie McCoy and Hugo Speer. It’s a BBC Drama Production for BBC One, co-produced by BBC WorldWide and BBC America. More news as, and when, we receive it!
