‘The Purge’ Commences In Terrifying New TV Spots

Arguably, one of the most effective fear-filled manoeuvres in the movies is the ‘home invasion’. The likes of HENRY, THE STRANGERS, FUNNY GAMES have been effective is setting-up such unsettling ‘activities’. Showing the chilling nature of person(s) disturbingly deciding to cross the threshold that most feel safe in, yet it immediately strikes a cord with an audience whom return to their ‘castle’ from the theatre by double checking windows and doors before retiring to the comfort and safety of their beds (also checking underneath) for a sleepless night.

2013 will see this violent aspect utilised to great effect in Adam Wingard’s YOU’RE NEXT and James DeMonaco’s THE PURGE. Both of which offer a genuinely twisted take on such violations. The latter features in these two television spots for the film starring Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Tony Oller, Max Burkholder and Adelaide Kane, which will trespass into UK cinemas from 31st May and the US 7th July.
