JANE GOT A GUN is a movie that has problems. First director Lynne Ramsay and Jude Law exit the project over various creative issues, and now Bradley Cooper (who replaced Law), has had to jump ship, albeit for a very different reason.
Cooper is currently shooting a film with his SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK director David O’Russell named AMERICAN HUSTLE over in Boston, and because of the tragic events that occurred there a couple of weeks ago, production has been slightly delayed. Add onto that various publicity bits he’s commited to do for the upcoming ‘HANGOVER III,’ equals a very busy Mr. Cooper and an overlap in projects.
It seems that Cooper is gutted to be leaving the film, which stars Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton and Noah Emmerich, and directed by Gavin O’Connor. The Oscar nominated actor released a statement through Deadline last night.
“Regretfully, due to date conflicts between the film I am currently shooting for David O Russell and Jane Got A Gun, I am unable to join Natalie, Joel, Noah and Gavin on this truly exciting project. I was really looking forward to being a part of it and hope to work with each and every one in the future.”
Helmer O’Connor and his team are currently looking for a quick replacement as production continues. Favourites include Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hiddleston.
