Reese Witherspoon is making headlines again this week following her arrest for disorderly conduct back in April. It’s good news this time, thankfully, with the star apparently set to reunite with WALK THE LINE director James Mangold for THREE LITTLE WORDS.
Adapted from Ashley Rhodes-Courter’s memoir of the same name, the film will see a kindly volunteer (Witherspoon) battle for custody of a young girl who has been dependent on the welfare system since the age of four. Amanda Seyfried is currently in talks to play the girl’s struggling biological mother.
Mangold — who is presumably still busy putting the finishing touches to X-project THE WOLVERINE — will direct from a script by Lewis Colick and Michael Petroni. All being well, production is expected to start in Florida this September.
